Pupil Leadership & Responsibilities

At Stanah Primary School, we believe children should have opportunities to lead, contribute and make a difference in school life.

Our pupil leadership roles help children build confidence, responsibility, teamwork and pride in our school community.

Guardians

‘Hello. We are Louis and Irissa and we are this year’s Stanah Guardians.
Being a Guardian means a lot to us because the school have selected us to represent them in all aspects of school life. We have many roles such as: presenting Stanah Superstar certificates, hosting ‘Tea with Me’, helping out at Parents’ Evenings and serving toast to our peers.
As Guardians, we also show potential pupils and their parents around our welcoming, caring and hard-working environment. We enjoy traditions this role brings such as picking the Christmas trees for our halls and laying the wreath at the Remembrance Service in Thornton.
We achieve all of this with the help and support of our fabulous Senior prefects.’

Prefects

‘ Hi. We are the Senior Prefects, Charlotte and Clayton.
Being a Senior Prefect involves being a great role model in and around school. We represent school in different ways and on different occasions, for example: welcoming parents for Stanah Superstar Assembly, Parents’ Evenings and showing children round who would like to join our school family.
Furthermore, we also help at special events including summer fairs, school galas and book fairs. As Senior Prefects we help set up for a weekly tea party with the Headteacher and also hand out toast on a Friday. We also demonstrate all of our Stanah values like respect, understanding and adaptability. We enjoy the traditions of decorating the school’s Christmas trees and representing school at Thornton’s Remembrance Service. This all comes together with the help of our wonderful Guardians. Great teamwork!’
